HURRICANE RIDGE

DESCRIPTION:
Hurricane Ridge is the most easily accessed mountain area within Olympic National Park. In clear weather, fantastic views can be enjoyed throughout the year. The road is open throughout summer, hovever in the winter the road is scheduled to be open from 9:00 am untill dusk, Friday through Sunday and holiday Mondays.
VIEWS:
The views of Hurricane Ridge are truly gorgeous, with snow covered mountain tops, evergreen trees, and little petite houses you will sometimes see sitting on the mountain. Hurricane Ridge views are one of a kind, and they will take your breath away.
DON'T FORGET:
Don't forget to wear good hiking shoes, and bring a backpack with things you might need, like hats and sunglasses, or in the winter an extra jacket. You can also carry brouchures, and souvenirs from the visitors center in your bag.
TIPS:
Make sure to go on a wide variety of trails, because some are shorter than others and some have better views than others. It really helps with seeing all parts of Hurricane Ridge in different perspectives.





HALF A DAY TRIP
SCHEDULE:
It is best to leave early for Hurricane Ridge, scince that is when the views are best. Hurricane Ridge is located 17 miles south of Port Angles. After you have gotten there, there are several hikes to take, but before that it is best to look at the view and read a bit about the history of Hurricane Ridge. Some of the most popular trails are Sol Duc trail and the Northeast Elwha trail.
